What’s Europe 2020?

Europe 2020 is the EU’s growth strategy with five ambitious objectives  that will concern: employment, innovation, education, social inclusion and climate/energy, that must be reached by 2020.

The threenew  initiatives will be created for “Europe 2020″ to achieve its goal:

  • Youth on the move:  aims to improve young people’s chances of finding a job by helping students and trainees gain experience in other countries, and improving the quality and attractiveness of education and training in Europe;
  • An agenda for new skills and jobs: aims to give fresh momentum to labour market reforms to help people gain the right skills for future jobs, to create new jobs and overhaul EU employment legislation; (Explanations bellow…)
  • European platform against poverty and social exclusion: aims to bolster work at all levels to reach the agreed EU headline target of lifting at least 20 million people out of poverty and exclusion by 2020.

 

What’s the “Agenda for new skills and jobs” about? 

EU‘s new initiative: “An Agenda for new skills and jobs”  will be part of the Europe 2020 to fight unemployment!

The main objective of Europe 2020 is to ensure that 75 % of men and women aged 20-64 are in employment by 2020. The Strategy also aims to cut the number of early school leavers to 10% and increase the number of young people in higher or equivalent vocational education to at least 40%. The Agenda proposes thirteen actions which will contribute to improving the functioning of Europe’s labour market. They will help to increase job flexibility and security, provide incentives to invest in training, ensure decent working conditions and facilitate job creation. This publication is available in printed format in English, French and German.

What will the Agenda offer?europe new initiatives to fight unemployment

The Agenda will present a set of concrete actions that will help Europeans to:

  • Improve flexibility and security in the labour market;
  • Get the right skills for the jobs of today and tomorrow;
  • Improve the quality of jobs and ensuring better working conditions;
  • Improve the conditions for job creation.

 

Why do you need this?

  • 23 million people are currently unemployed across the EU – 10% of the active population
  • For our economy to grow and remain competitive, we need more jobs
  • From 2012 onwards our working age population will start to shrink. To ensure the sustainability of our welfare systems, more people need to work

Ludilangues is looking for one EVS , coming from Poland to promote the French language.
The mission will take place in Strasbourg in cooperation with a social organisation with our local network. The mission will consist im promoting the French languages in a funny way towards pupils who are learning that language + contribute on the developpement of some pedagogical action.
The volonteer will be welcome in a student’s room and will work in an international surrounding. The volonteer will receive 15 days of qualification in August 2013 ( from 1 until 16th of August in Annecy ) with our whole team in order to understand better in what consist being an linguistical counselor’s.
The volunteer receives a qualification in terms of linguistic entertainment. He will learn how to entertain kids and help them improve their linguistic skills to progress; he will coordinate our workshop and will have the freedom to shape new actions that matches our orientation.

Tasks

To get to know how to create a network, to get a better knwoledge of European programs in order to be able to talk about it, to assist us in the setting of some linguistically activities , to assist us in the development of some international projec,t, to propose some new actions, to promote the French languages and culture in a funny way in the non-educational Field.

European training event | Get training for free in another European country

The training course aims to provide youth workers/youth leaders with competences and new ideas on how to use social software and different media tools in campaigning for active European citizenship and raising awareness of youth about European values.


We are looking for partners from Albania, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine. 

The partners should be motivated to send 2-3 participants, youth workers, youth leaders, volunteers, interested in the theme of the training and willing to put experience gained on the training into practice.
The objectives: 
 To build capacities of 24 youth workers for using social media tools in projects and information campaigns aimed at promoting European citizenship.
 To introduce the non-formal and cooperative web-mediated learning to the youth workers and thus increase the level of active participation of their target group; 
 To make our participants familiar with the web tools which can help them in building and maintaining sustainable partnerships with other youth organisations; 
 To provide participants with an opportunity to put into practice elements they have acquired during the training course, through study cases they will be working on during the training course; 
 To facilitate the exchange of good practices and experience among the participants, as an essential process for their active participation and maximization of the learning objectives; 
 To develop new partnerships among organisations as a result of a number of new quality youth projects.

3.1 Youth Exchange “ACT as Citizens” in Rezekne, Latvia

 
Main aims of this exchange are:
* To provide an opportunity for young people to develop new skills and competences, as well as reinforcing existing ones;
* To promote citizenship using different theatre methods;
* To inspire fascination and willingness to explore new theatre working methods especially in intercultural and social youth projects.

We can host 7 representatives from each organization (6 participants + 1 leader).

All the project related expenses (accommodation, food, working materials) are covered; participants pay only the 30% of the travel cost. No participating fee.

The main aim of this youth exchange is to show and point-out to young peoples different ways and different programs in order to improve their competences and their personal and professional skills by non-formal education in order to give them better opportunity to find job and become desirable employee on European and/or national labor market. 
The main focus will be on opportunities that young people have as European Citizens, what it practically means and how they can be linked to employment policy in order to increase employability among youth together with their personal contribution.

Dates: Youth Exchange will be organized in 2014, from 7-14 Jun. 

Participants: We can host 6 participants + 1 leader from each European organization.

The participants pay 30% of the travel costs, no participation fees. All other costs will be covered 100% by the project.

The EU Health Strategy (2008-2013) identifies health of children and young people as a
priority for action, and has been confirmed by a Council Resolution1. The health of many
young people is at risk because of stress, poor diet, lack of physical exercise, unprotected sex,
tobacco, alcohol and drug abuse. Broader environmental and socio-economic factors also
influence poor health which in turn can obstruct active participation. The specificity of youth
in health issues thus needs to be tackled cross-sectorally. In addition to improving the physical
health and psychological well-being of young citizens, sport has an educational dimension
and plays an important social role. “Environmental health addresses all the physical, chemical, and biological factors external to a person, and all the related factors impacting behaviours. It encompasses the assessment and control of those environmental factors that can potentially affect health. It is targeted towards preventing disease and creating health-supportive environments. This definition excludes behaviour not related to environment, as well as behaviour related to the social and cultural environment, as well as genetics.”

EVS experience possible in Serbia in 2014CMI is a non-profit voluntary organization recognized as a Unesco club and is a member of the FFCU and based in France with offices in Canada and Senegal. CMI offers short and long term International Volunteering Projects in Senegal, Togo, Benin, Cameroun and Ghana to assist in long lasting local development and promote street children’s education and training. 



More specifically in Senegal, too many children are on the streets because they have to work as their parents can not afford to meet their living needs. These children are often illiterate and have no access to the formal education system. With the purpose of helping these disadvantaged children, CMI International, is implementing an educational program in the suburbs of Dakar (Senegal). The programme aims at providing the street children with basic French lessons and other extra activities. We will support them by creating a ”school on wheels” structure travelling a few days per week on previously identified sites of Dakar suburbs.

We are looking for 6 volunteers to implement the program. The pilot project will start in mid-March for a period of 5 months in Senegal. Volunteers can work from 3 weeks to 5 months depending on their availabilities. A good level of French is required. As part of this mission, CMI International will offer free lessons of basic Wolof (the local dialect, official language is french) through skype before volunteers departure. These lessons will enable volunteers to get the basics of everyday words, useful to communicate with children. You will work on-site with people who speak both Wolof and French.

Tasks

- prepare lessons and materials to provide street children with the basic knowledge and skills that enable them to bring long term change into their lives. – raise public awarness about street children issues. – give basic french lessons and hold extra activities. – research for sponsors Give feedback and recommendation about students’ performance

Criteria

- Must be above 18 – Must be Fluent in French or at list good knowledge of french – Knowledge of the Wolof language an asset – Strong inter-personal skills and experiences in working with people, especially children

HIV/AIDS remains a serious health threat in many African countries including Ghana.

Every year hundreds of adults and children are infected with and die of this killer virus. IFRE’s partners work to advance adolescent reproductive health and HIV/AIDS prevention. Using the HIV ALERT MODEL , they focuses on promoting behavioral change through facilitating discussions of HIV prevention and sexual health with community groups. Community groups include youth groups in/out-of-school, clients at antenatal clinics and general community meetings. Volunteers are mainly involved with counseling and education. This project is open to volunteers who are willing to share their love, time and compassion with the HIV patients and who are committed to supporting efforts to stop the spread of this disease.

Tasks

Volunteers may directly provide support and care to HIV/AIDS infected patients, including children, or engage the public with educational training and activities meant to increase awareness and stop the epidemic of HIV/AIDS in Ghana. Several local NGOs work on HIV/AIDS programs which are focused on two areas. First focus area includes: treatment, psychological counseling and support to whose people infected with HIV/AIDS. Volunteers within the scope of the first focus area generally visit with HIV/AIDS patients (along with a local worker) and distribute food, clothes, medicine and give mental counseling and support. You may provide basic but valuable tips to patients on health, nutrition and sanitation and you may be involved in keeping patient records. The second focus area includes: HIV/AIDS treatment/awareness programs to increase the community’s understanding of HIV/AIDS, ways to prevent the spread of the disease and how to protect themselves from contracting the disease. Volunteers supporting awareness/outreach normally contribute to counseling and education in major hospitals and communities to raise personal risk perception among young men and women. Programs actively involve youth in participatory HIV/AIDS preventive education within the district. Volunteers may focused on outreach and awareness programs often visit many schools, villages, churches and present information and media, posters, distribute pamphlets and condoms, etc.
